Individual engagements

Coaching

Individual work for technical people whose analysis is correct and whose recommendations are not getting run.

The premise

Most training fails because it works on the wrong artifact

Training in technical organizations typically consists of a workshop, a set of exercises, and a template. It produces a measurable improvement for about three weeks, after which behavior returns to baseline. The reason is not that the content was wrong. It is that the exercises were not the participant’s own work, and therefore carried none of the constraints that actually shape what gets produced.

The constraint shaping your next analysis is not a gap in your understanding of decomposition. It is that the freeze is in nine days, that the person who can commit has not replied, that two of the three alternatives are politically unavailable, and that the team whose rule you propose to replace sits two desks away. No exercise reproduces that.

So the work happens on live briefs, under their real constraints, on their real deadlines. That is slower and less comfortable than a workshop, and it is the only version that survives contact with the next request.

Engagements

How the work is structured

One Decision

A live brief, turned into a choice.

From $750

One 90-minute session plus a written rebuild

  • Your current request rewritten as a choice sentence with alternatives, owner, and freeze date
  • The two or three claims that could actually kill your candidate ranking
  • A one-page write-up you can send this week

Book a session

Scope and Promotion Work

For the staff-plus case that has to be made in writing.

From $3,500

Four sessions across eight weeks

  • Your case argued as a decision rather than listed as a chronology
  • Evidence organized so a calibration room can act on it without you present
  • A defensible account of the rules you installed, not the models you built

Discuss your case

Prices are starting points and scale with scope, seniority, and turnaround. Organizational sponsorship is common and the invoicing accommodates it.

Process

What actually happens

  1. 01

A thirty-minute call, at no cost

You bring one piece of work that changed nothing. We establish which of the three parts was missing, and whether I am the right person for it. A meaningful fraction of these calls end with me saying the problem is not one I solve, which is a better outcome for both of us than an engagement that was never going to work.

  2. 02

A diagnostic on your existing work

You send three to five recent briefs, studies, or write-ups. I read them against the same tests used throughout this site and come back with a specific failure profile. Almost everyone is weak in one of the three parts rather than generally deficient, and naming which one is most of the work.

  3. 03

    Rebuilding, on live documents

Each session takes a request you are actually working on. We write the choice sentence, find the claims that could kill your candidate, name the flip point, and cut the work that could not have changed the ranking. You do the work. I do the interrogation.

  4. 04

    Rehearsal for the room

A recommendation that survives review has to survive its author defending it. We work the objections you expect and the ones you have not thought of, including the adjacent team that will route around your rule if it works as designed.

Before you pay anyone

Try it for free first

Everything taught in coaching is documented on this site at no cost. Read the method, run the diagnostic, and write one choice sentence before your next piece of work starts. See whether it changes what gets run afterward. If it does not, coaching will not either, and you will have spent an afternoon rather than a budget.

Next step
